Atmic Vision is an innovative Indian Classical Music Fusion trio of Bansuri (Indian bamboo flute), Double Bass, and Tabla (Indian drums). Atmic Vision performs raga-based devotional bhajan songs of India, playing them in the style of North Indian classical music. The songs are infused with inspirational improvisation and dynamic musical dialogue between musicians. Atmic Vision’s unique blend of Eastern & Western musical and spiritual elements creates music of profound peace, purity and rhythmic vitality. This music is proving to appeal to listeners of all ages. | Atmic
Vision's 2008 USA and Europe Tour in October takes the group
through Colorado, Illinois & Wisconsin, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and
Paris. In Paris, Atmic Vision will perform a recital and give a
master class at the international double bass convention "Bass '08" Atmic Vision’s 8-week 2007 USA Tour with 16 concerts and 30+ Indian Music workshops in schools included a two-week residency at the University of Colorado in Boulder, the group's New York City debut at Symphony Space in March, and two TV broadcasts in New York (see myspace.com/atmicvision). Concerts featured music from the ensemble’s first CD Expanding Horizons (available on iTunes and from CDbaby). The COLORADO DAILY writes of the Expanding Horizons CD, “Some tracks have an upbeat, dancing feel while others send you off into a space of transient, imagery-filled peacefulness.” The International Society of Bassists (ISB) Bass World journal writes, “The music is uplifting and ethereal with considerable contrast in the four works recorded, and is sure to have wide appeal.” |
