The CU College of Music is recognised for its award winning programs in Classical performance (strings, voice, keyboard, brass, woodwinds and percussion), Jazz, Opera, Theory, Composition, World Music, and Musicology. The String Area faculty includes the Grammy Award winning Takacs String Quartet, one of the world's most respected string quartets. The CU double bass program prepares students to be competitive with students graduating from leading music schools in the country, including Eastman School of Music and Juilliard where Paul Erhard earned his bachelors, masters, and doctoral performance degrees. Dr. Erhard's career as a classical soloist, orchestra member, jazz player, and more recently as the founder of the acclaimed Indian Classical Music trio Atmic Vision, keeps the double bass studio at the cutting edge of excellence in double bass playing. |
